Mrs. Wagner's Classroom Procedures
In my kindergarten room I use a “Traffic Light”behavior plan.  The object is for your child to stay on the green light.  In order to stay on green your child needs to follow the three Blumfield rules.  Be safe, be respectful, and be responsible.  In kindergarten that means your child’s hands and feet are to themselves, they are following directions, and they are being a good listener.   If they struggle with these rules their name clip is moved down to yellow light.  Yellow means they go to “think about it time” away from the group.  If they continue to have problems throughout the day, they will then get their name clip moved down to red light.  Red means the loss of either recess or center time.  During the week I will randomly pick days that your child is rewarded for staying on green.   I will also use the Blumfield tokens daily for positive reinforcement when your child is "caught" doing the right thing.   The children then save their tokens until we go to the “Blumfield Store” to spend them.
